Maroon Bells with Pyramid Peak from Mid-Lake
The Maroon Bells are very near Aspen. They're a very popular tourist destination and are photographed by just about every landscape photographer in the world. I wanted something different than the standard photograph of the two Maroon Bells: Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak, made from the lake that fronts the scene. Pyramid Peak, the high peak on the left, is often left out. I drove to the Aspen area a couple of times recently and made this panorama and the two that follow (I'll add one more, I think, shortly). It truly is a wonderful place.
